A casual conversation about her fortune led a Thai factory worker to buy lottery tickets — and she ended up winning 12 million baht, approximately RM1.465 million.
According to China Press, the 48-year-old woman from Ang Thong province recently met a friend of her younger brother who practises fortune-telling. She asked whether she had any chance of coming into money, and he told her that financial luck was on the way.
He also suggested buying government lottery tickets. She later bought two tickets bearing the same number, 011781, both of which won first prize in the October 16 draw.
Friend Suggested Buying Two to Seven Tickets
The friend recommended that she purchase between two and seven Thai government lottery tickets to try her luck.
She decided to give it a go but became busy and nearly forgot about it. On the day of the draw, she remembered that she had yet to buy any tickets and made her selection before the results were announced.
Birthday Numbers Unavailable, So She Chose Tickets Ending in 81
The factory worker initially wanted numbers connected to her birth year. However, she could not find the combination she wanted.
She changed her mind and bought two tickets ending in 81 through a lottery platform. Both carried the full number 011781.
That afternoon, while discussing lottery numbers with her colleagues, she checked her tickets against the results.
To her astonishment, both matched the first-prize number exactly. Each ticket won six million baht, bringing her total winnings to 12 million baht.
