After playing the same numbers for more than 10 years, a 70-year-old bird’s nest businessman from Sabah finally landed a major win! His favourite numbers, inspired by his own car registration plate and those of his family members, won him RM3.5 million in Toto 4D Jackpot 1 in the August 15 draw.
But the businessman has no plans to retire and take it easy. Instead, he intends to put the winnings into expanding his existing business.
Family Car Plate Numbers Played for Over 10 Years
According to the winning story shared by Sports Toto Malaysia, the businessman had been playing the same familiar numbers for more than a decade, drawing inspiration from his family’s car registration plates.
“I have always played the same numbers, inspired by my car registration plate and those of my family members.”
The lucky numbers included 2299 and 2976. When he checked the draw results and realised that his familiar numbers had formed a winning combination, he could hardly believe it.
RM34.50 System 6 Ticket Wins RM3.5 Million
The winning ticket was sold in Sandakan, Sabah. It was a System 6 entry costing RM34.50, which secured the businessman RM3.5 million in prize money.
The RM34.50 refers to the cost of this particular winning ticket, rather than his total spending over more than 10 years. The prize was also a 4D jackpot, so it should not be directly compared with the standard first-prize payouts for Big and Small bets.
A Business Expansion Instead of Retirement
For many people, winning millions at 70 might mean stepping away from work and enjoying retirement. This bird’s nest businessman, however, has his sights set on growing his business.
